The British police filed charges on Wednesday against a 19-year-old suspected of involvement in cyberattacks.

The suspect, Ryan Cleary, was charged with five offenses under the Computer Misuse Act, the police said.

One charge relates to using a flood of traffic to crash the Web site of the British Serious Organized Crime Agency, equivalent to the F.B.I., in what is known as a “distributed denial of service” attack.
