Possible police corruption is to be investigated by the police inspectorate, Associated Press quotes UK Home Secretary Theresa May as saying on Monday. According to May, the Inspectorate of Constabulary will be examining the links between the UK press accused of phone hacking scandal and police.
Earlier, Scotland Yard Chief Paul Stephenson and the London force’s assistant commissioner, John Yates, resigned amid the scandal involving Rupert Murdoch’s media empire and the allegations that they had links to Neil Wallis, a former News of the World executive editor, who was arrested last week.
