OPD Tagged on Fourth of July – Photos & Video

On the fourth of July, 2012,  50-100 anarchist protesters marched to the Oakland police station leaving a wake of road blocks & propaganda down Broadway. When the march arrived at OPD, individuals began to vent their distaste for the department by spray painting, “FTP” and “Kill Cops” on the windows. One person was almost successful at kicking a side door in and others moved dumpsters into the street to help block traffic from crashing their street party/flag burning outside the jail house, where inmates were waving and knocking on their cell windows.

The march moved on towards Oscar Grant Plaza where they had planned to enjoy a dance party in front of City Hall. Police quickly showed up and began to move into the plaza. The dancing group of protesters began to move away and back out into the street. In the panic, the sound system was left with it’s owner who was later arrested on obstruction charges.

This action was not organized by any particular organization or group.
