Oakland Marches in Solidarity with Anaheim – Photos & Video

In response to the recent police involved shooting deaths of Manuel Diaz and Joel Acevedo in Anaheim, an estimated 100-150 anti-police violence activists gathered today in Oakland for a rally and march in solidarity with their oppressed brothers and sisters down south.

Many of the marchers chanted anti-police slogans such as, “Save a life, kill yourself,” “We all hate you,” and the more popular, “Shit’s fucked up, shit’s fucked up and bullshit.”

Though the main stream media will paint some of the actions taken tonight as “violent,” the window at the “Warehouse Bar & Grill,” an OPD favorite watering hole, didn’t bleed when a protester took a hammer to it. The other windows & front door didn’t seem to bat an eye when a few balloons full of bright paint splattered all over them.

Police didn’t respond to this targeted vandalism, however moments after, about dozen or so officers in riot gear began to accumulate in front of their station.

There were no arrests, nor were there any attempts to make an arrest. The march returned to Oscar Grant Plaza before dispersing.
